Starting in September, the pumpkin patches are ready for the fall..

Fright Fest @ Six Flags Fiesta Texas

September 10th – October 31st.

Let your inner kids, join the other ones at Fiesta Texas this year. With Haunted Houses, Scare Zones and Rides in the Dar, there is plenty of spooky fun to explore. Even thou it’s for kids of all ages, beware with the itty bittys.

Spooktacular @ SeaWorld

September 15th – October 30th.

Unlike Fiesta Texas, this is not-so-scary. The itty bittys should enjoy this easier.

With Elmo Rock concert to Dia de los Muertos, trick-or-treating at SeaWorld is great fun for all ages! Kids 12 years or younger get to trick-or-treat at multiple locations while supplies last.

San Antonio Basketball

If you live in San Antonio, then there’s a good chance, you’ve been to see The Spurs play basketball.

Before the games used to be played at the Alamodome. It’s is okay, but does not have the capacity like AT&T. With so many people attending these games, it’s no wonder why they chose the AT&T center; located @ 1 AT&T Center Parkway, San Antonio, Texas 78219.

Wurstfest

One of the Hill Country’s biggest events is Wurstfest. Just like Austin’s Oktoberfest, Wurstfest is celebrated in New Braunfels from November 4 – 13th.

The 5th Annual Halloween Bar Crawl

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Every year, our family (over 80 of us at one point) get together at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio. With so many of us, it’s always a challenge to gain consensus on where everyone can be accommodated. Especially with travel. Renting charter buses from ETI was a great idea, but we didn’t want to spend our time on the road on Thanksgiving Day. With so many activities for the adults, kids and even grandparents; everyone is able to enjoy their time together.

..and the food.

The food at the JW is superb. From Brisket, Prime Rib, Turkey, Green Bean Casserole, mash potatoes and more. There was an opportunity to spoil your belly with every dish.

If you’re concerned about how much food there is to eat, don’t be. You will find out just how large the JW Marriott is. You can burn off all your spoils by simply walking around the resort.

Then comes Black Friday

Now, we call on ETI to reserve our charter bus to shuttle us back and forth shopping. San Antonio Comedy Clubs

If you are looking for a fun night with lots of laughs make your way to Improv Comedy Club located at the San Antonio Rivercenter. They have brought nights full of laughter to San Antonio since 1993. Comedians from Gabriel Iglesias to Jeff Dunham have performed on their stage. However, I don’t think this comedy club survived the pandemic. Recently, I made an attempt and noticed there was a notice on Google Business page listing them as permanently closed. However, when you visit there website, there is no mention about being closed. 

Also in the heart of downtown San Antonio are the Majestic and Empire Theaters. The Majestic Theatre and the Empire Theatre offer excellent entertainment and a rich history. I remember going to go see Sinbad perform his stand up in 2019; such a blast. He picked a nice venue, as these beautiful and amazing theaters are now home to performing arts attractions that can consume any evening! Upcoming events include Dancing with the Stars: Live!, David Blaine Live, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert.

The Aztec Theatre is another great place to catch live entertainment. The Aztec Theatre is conveniently located in downtown San Antonio at the corner of Commerce and St. Mary’s. From concerts, comedians, to orchestra you can find it all on the stage of the Aztec. Upcoming events include The Molly Ringwalds, Los Lonely Boys, and Seether.

San Antonio Riverwalk

Lastly, we couldn’t help but mention the infamous downtown San Antonio Riverwalk. From fine dining to casual places to have an ice cold drink and some great grub! A few of our places to stop while strolling next to the river include the Lone Star Cafe, Moses Roses Hideout, and Naked Iguana Tequila Bar!

So many attractions on the River Walk, and beautiful landscapes; it’s no wonder that it was listed as #16 location as “most beautiful” sights in the U.S., study

Farmers Market at the Pearl

As a culinary and cultural destination in San Antonio, the Pearl District has many great places to eat, play, and hang out. Day or Night, the Pearl has a lot to offer. On the weekends the Farmers Market vendors have booths lined up with a variety of goodies. The weekend hours are Saturdays 9am – 1pm and on Sundays 10am – 2pm.

With so many vendors and awesome amenities, it’s no wonder why the Peral is such an attraction.

Nightlife at the Pearl

One of the gems the Pearl District has to offer is Jazz, TX! They are located in the cellar of the Bottling House at the historic Pearl Brewery. Imagine the class of an upscale Jazz club combined with the grit of a Texas dance hall and you have Jazz, TX.  A night out here offers live music, dancing, delicious South Texas cuisine, craft cocktails, and more!

Sam’s Burger Joint is another great place that serves up live music, great food, and ice cold drinks. Enjoy the entertainment from a diverse line-up of acts including everything from blues and Americana to soul and funk. Along with live music, Sam’s Burger Joint also features comedy nights, swing dance lessons, and other special events. Have we mentioned their mouth watering burgers? With a night of fun, dancing, and a cold drink you can work up an appetite and Sam’s has delicious burgers that always hit the spot!

Another favorite near the Pearl District is Down on Grayson! As a casual, modern-American restaurant you can find something on the menu for everyone. Enjoy the delicious food in their airy, light-filled indoor dining room or head outside to enjoy those summer nights on one of the largest patios in the area! At Down on Grayson’s bar, you can find them serving up delicious, fresh cocktails as well as your favorite wines.

One of our favorite attractions on the weekend evenings is the Blue Box. Check with Blue Box bar for entertainment events; with DJ playing on Friday and Saturday nights, it’s a fun evening.
